As a Building Energy Modeling Engineer with a background in programming you will shape and deliver key features in Solemma’s building energy simulation workflows. Work may include implementation of advanced energy modeling concepts like controls, passive systems, and HVAC as well as life-cycle analysis workflows. Development of energy model templates, energy model generation and automation as well as development of intuitive user-interface designs that facilitate advanced energy modeling in early design will be a key responsibility of this job. You will work as part of the software development team and interface directly with end users and partners in the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry.
- Collaborate with the software development team to develop new features.
- Own features and energy modeling workflows from start to finish.

- A background in engineering or architecture with a focus on building energy modeling.
- Solid technical knowledge of building physics and building energy systems.
- Familiarity with building rating systems and energy standards (LEED, ASHRAE Standard 90.1, ASHRAE Standard 189.1 and IEEC).
- Good familiarity with energy modeling software such as EnergyPlus.
- Good familiarity with object-oriented programming (i.e. C# or C++).
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with EnergyPlus source code.
- Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino APIs.
